Laplink Connections: Interview with RealWear Co-Founder Sanjay Jhawar
Laplink CEO Thomas Koll recently met with RealWear Co-Founder and President Sanjay Jhawar about smart edge devices and the trend that is changing the landscape of cloud technology for enterprise organizations. They discussed the benefits to enterprises, including increased productivity enabled by smart end-user devices, such as RealWear's, and how these intelligent devices can transform industrial and manufacturing company leaders’ ability to remotely manage quality control, mentoring, training, and other initiatives. Thomas and Sanjay also discussed the many challenges facing leaders of remote teams during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sanjay Jhawar is the driving force behind RealWear’s innovation and growth. RealWear is a knowledge transfer company focused on providing in-situ information and in-the-field training to help improve safety and increase productivity in the workplace. RealWear’s flagship product is the HMT-1, the first fully rugged wearable head-mounted Android-class tablet computer that frees a worker’s hands for safety-critical jobs. The hands-free monocular HMT-1 is purpose-built for Connected Worker programs in the industrial enterprise and is safely voice-controlled, even in extremely noisy environments.
As co-founder, president, chief product officer, and board director, Sanjay has been involved in building the company from development and shipment of the first hardware and cloud products to fundraising, hiring, product incubation and solutions, and ISV partner and cloud organizations. He has grown the software ecosystem to 200+ companies, a list that includes Microsoft, Cisco, and Zoom. In the past five years, RealWear has partnered with more than 3,000 enterprise customers globally and has become the leading market share vendor in the industrial head-mounted device space.
During Thomas’ discussion with Sanjay, they also talked about how Sanjay has adjusted his communication strategy during the pandemic. Sanjay shared lessons he has learned along the way while working at a rapidly growing company.
