Laplink Connections: Jean-Philippe Courtois of Microsoft

Microsoft’s Executive Vice President and President of Global Sales, Marketing & Operations Jean-Philippe Courtois joined Laplink CEO Thomas Koll as his latest guest on Laplink Connections. Their engaging discussion focused on the challenges facing leaders managing remote teams during COVID-19.

In his role at Microsoft, Jean-Philippe leads Microsoft’s commercial business across 124 subsidiaries worldwide and he is responsible for driving strategic planning, growth initiatives, national digital transformation partnerships, and overall operations. Given the vast geographic reach of his organization across more than 100 countries, Jean-Philippe was able to share a unique perspective about how his leadership style has changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Like millions of other business leaders around the world, he shifted his jam-packed travel schedule of logging millions of air miles for in-person meetings to virtual meetings via Microsoft Teams with his sales teams around the world.

During Thomas’ discussion with Jean-Philippe, they talked about how Jean-Philippe strategically adjusted his communication style to compensate for the challenges of remote leadership. You can check out the video below to hear more about Jean-Philippe’s lessons learned and his key tips for successfully leading remote teams while also managing work-life balance during a pandemic.
