While the ongoing pandemic has caused significant disruption to business, Andreas Moelich, Head of Global Talent Acquisition and Talent Advancement at ABB, discussed during our latest Laplink Connections interview that the move to remote work has opened new doors for his company in many ways when it comes to recruiting new talent.
One major advantage for the power and automation giant is that ABB can now scour the world for the best talent, regardless of location.
“At the moment in a lot of industries, it's much more the candidates choosing the employer, rather than the other way round. If you can create an opportunity to hire globally, or internationally, you do so as a company,” he says. “COVID has shown that this remote working, this flexible working, this working through time zones, working from different locations, isn't a problem at all to maintain productivity.”
And like many multinational corporations, ABB is always on the lookout for top talent. ABB consists of several divisions including Power Products, Power Systems, Discrete Automation and Motion, Low Voltage Products, and Process Automation and relies on advanced technology to help make its customers more competitive. Headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, ABB operates in over 100 countries and has a global workforce of 144,000 people.
We very much appreciated the opportunity to have a discussion and connect with Andreas from his home office in Zurich.
