Laplink Connections Debuts with Maker Mask Interview

Introducing: Laplink Connections

We’re excited to launch Laplink Connections, a new video series where we will be connecting with thought leaders from across the industry to talk about the latest news and technology trends. Hosted by Laplink CEO Thomas Koll, Laplink Connections is focused on sharing compelling conversations that support Laplink’s mission to help connect your world.

In the first installment below, Thomas talks with Jonathan Roberts, founder of RPrime, a nonprofit focused on societal and community needs, and leader of the Maker Mask Initiative. Maker Mask is a nonprofit, rapidly-growing grassroots ecosystem and digital platform response to the COVID-19 crisis organized by leaders of technology, industry and government, that is focused on manufacturing protective respirator-style masks to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect the public and frontline essential workers.

Partnering with Maker Mask

A few months ago, Laplink donated more than $10,000 to Maker Mask to help the nonprofit offset some of the costs of mask-making materials and other operational expenses. In this video, Thomas talks with Jonathan about the progress that the dedicated Maker Mask team has made during the past few months as they work to get their protective masks to the people who desperately need them during the COVID-19 pandemic.

So far, more than 866,000 people have visited Maker Mask’s website and more than 250,000 CAD files of Maker Mask’s free 3D printable designs have been downloaded by more than 11,000 makers around the world. As you’ll hear in the interview, Maker Mask will soon introduce the latest version of their respirator-style masks with replaceable N95+ filters that offer great breathability while protecting you when breathing in and people nearby when you are breathing out. The Radius Maker Mask is very comfortable to wear because it is made out of flexible silicon that forms to your face. These ready-to-wear and reusable masks will be available for purchase at makermask.com. Jonathan also shares several other exciting developments ahead for Maker Mask. Watch their conversation below.
